The AllBright Foundation
The AllBright Foundation researches:
A Thomas recruits a Thomas and a Michael a Michael. There is only a 12% share of women on the boards of the 30 large umbrella corporations. Not a single CEO is more female.
Small and medium-sized exchanges: e.g. Tec-DAX: only have a 5.2% share of women.
The FRG is comparable to India and Turkey and is in the lower third of the EU comparison.
In Germany only 29% are women in managerial positions, in Poland & Slovenia 46% and 40% respectively.
Exactly a year ago:
In 160 German listed companies, the proportion of women on the executive boards of 641 men on the executive board was only 56 – that’s a little over 8%.
Elke Holst, Research Director for Gender Studies at the German Institute f. Economics:
“The development is like a ride on the snail”.
In 86 years there will be as many women as men on the executive boards of the top 200 companies. On the supervisory boards in 25 years.
105 of 160 German listed companies do not have a single woman on the board. In Sweden, in the USA, or in Great Britain that is unthinkable. “Purely male management teams are simply no longer socially accepted there”, Wiebke Ankersen, managing director of the AllBright Foundation.
In fact, 53 of the supervisory boards have formulated the goal of “zero women” on the executive board, including those of Zalando, Rocket Internet, Freenet, HelloFresh and Xing.
They are called “Boys Club”: Your goal – no women on the board by 2022!
Excursus in art and film: WELCOME TO HOLLYWOOD!
48 producers & directors male – 1 female.
“Representation in media harms minorities’ self-esteem and affect how people think about them.”
Small discourse on feminism
The aloof discourse of gender feminism does not reach the supermarket employee. But it is a fact that all of us who deal with the subject speak as privileged. This creates a distance to the women who stay afloat in poorly paid jobs.
The economics professor Alison Wolf states:
Female solidarity is a myth. Growing inequality between women leads to the “death of the sisterhood”.
53 percent of white women were against Hillary Clinton because she embodies a world that has nothing to do with them.
The class weighed more than the gender.
Feminism understood correctly today:
Fighting together for conditions that enable every woman to live the life she wants.
Don’t devalue women to sacrifice, encourage them to support those with whom we never come into contact, but who need feminism most.
