Back to normal …?
we all want normality again – and I hope we can meet again at some point without fear or distance. We all want this to become reality again – and this wish unites us – we have the same goal!
The cityscape has changed… In Italy and southern France – where the deadly threat kept the whole world in suspense a few weeks ago – everything seems like last year, young people move around undisturbed, embrace, kiss, etc.… masks? Nothing. You wear it “pro forma” down on your chin … or on your arm – everything tries to be casual …
Distancing? No, why should we? We are young & healthy!
The danger seems to have been averted, the numbers are declining (they are only increasing in countries that are ruled by stupid, ignorant and / or dictatorial and / and narcissistic egomaniacs … (not only in the USA are cowboys in the saddle …).
But does that mean it’s all over? I hope and wish it in this world …
The item “ How About a Coronavirus on the Rocks? “ by Tara Parker-Pope in the New York Times on July 7th, 2020, shows that we should continue to be vigilant … even the boys:
“The biggest challenge for slowing the spread of the coronavirus may be the demographic group that likes to frequent bars. Around the country, more young people are testing positive for the coronavirus after ignoring social distancing measures.
Doctors say more work needs to be done to convince young people to stay away from bars and adopt social distancing measures. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there have been 395 Covid deaths in the United States in people between the ages of 18 and 29, and 1,137 in people between the ages of 30 and 39. “
This shows us that we should continue to lead by example … and become more aware of the possible consequences.
What do we have to lose if there is no second wave and it turns out in a year or two or even in winter that it was “sheer hysteria” and we kept ourselves unnecessarily distant?
Nothing… !
But what if there is a second wave in autumn and we have to paralyze schools and shops, restaurants, hotels and local public transport again in winter?
We will live in ghost towns with no restaurants, no hotels, no tourists and no travel … and: the companies that survived the crisis will hardly survive the second wave.
How much energy or restriction does the distance cost us?
How much does it cost us to risk
that everything starts all over again …?
I ask myself this question …
So we keep our distance, because we don’t know anything else at the moment …
Those who think anything is nonsense can do that.
Nobody – and certainly not me – tells someone what we should think or believe. Everyone can think and believe what they like …
So if you believe in conspiracies or think everything is totally exaggerated – okay!
I don’t want to convince anyone …
Only when you / we meet, do I ask you to consider that any ignored distance is not a decision only for each individual, but always for others too …
In this respect, it is only a question of responsibility, consideration and respect that those who keep their distance show.
Anyone who does not keep this distance presumes to “take away” the decision of his counterpart.
